Go Gaga for Fall 2010

After four sold out shows in Radio City Music Hall, this summer Lady Gaga is returning to New York City July 6, 7 & 9. The tickets for the show range from $54.00 to $179.00 and only single seats are still available.

Gaga's reputation as an outrageous figure is sure to pervade, as her performance promises to be a theatrical spectacle. With her eccentric dress and provocative statements, Lady Gaga is quite a controversial woman. One thing is for sure though, she is in it to win it. Her desire to succeed as an artist pushes her to maintain her persona.

She told Rolling Stone magazine, "If I were to ever, God forbid, get hurt onstage and my fans were screaming outside of the hospital, waiting for me to come out, I'd come out as Gaga."

Her dedication to her music doesn't end there. She also explained, "I don't drink water onstage in front of anybody, because I want them to focus on the fantasy of the music."

Her commitment to her career, and even more importantly, her Little Monsters, is admirable. Say what you want about Gaga, but her desire to break the mold and be herself makes her a good role model.

BP Oil Spill Disaster

The wildlife that inhabits the Gulf of Mexico is suffering due to the BP oil spill. Nine weeks have passed since the oil rig exploded and the Deepwater Horizon spill has yet to be contained.

Said to be the worst oil spill in U.S. history, nearly 800 animals have been found dead in the Gulf or washed up on its shores. Included in this number are birds, sea turtles, dolphins and many other animals.

The oil spill, now on its 64^th day, has polluted the coastlines of four U.S. states, threatened the livelihood of the fishing and tourism industries, disturbed the sensitive ecological wetlands, and challenged President Obama, who has been scrutinized for the way he has handled the crisis.

Thus far, BP has spent $2 billion on clean up, not including the $105 million owed in damage settlements. However, BP faces more accountability, for if the spill is not soon contained, and the damage moves to the eastern coastlines, Attorneys general from 11 states on the East Coast threaten to hold BP responsible for the injury to the wildlife.

This catastrophe has not only cost hundreds of bird their lives, it may cause ecosystems to collapse, causing millions of birds to lose their homes and food sources.

With the new luggage weight restrictions implemented by the airlines, it is becoming more and more important to travel light. However, women continue to find it hard to properly pack.
