Trend Watch: A Tribe of Their Own

Last week, three stylish celebrities stepped into the street looking like a tribe of their own.

Nicky Hilton, Beyoncé Knowles and Kim Kardashian were all spotted wearing printed dresses that are perfect for summer.

The girls all rocked one of this season's biggest trends--tribal prints. However, the styles were all dramatically different. From Nicky's electric ikat tank dress to Kim's Aztec-inspired floor-length maxi, the trend is clearly versatile.

It is no wonder that these celebrities are reaching for printed sundresses. The trend, which was seen on the runways of Anna Sui, L.A.M.B. and Diane von Furstenberg, draws inspiration from Africa, the Middle East and Mexico. It is no wonder then that these beautiful ikat and batik prints exude an exotic allure that will remind you of foreign lands.

One of Qi's top picks from the spring collection is our Tied to the Tribe Dress. Featuring a black and white ikat print, the Tied to the Tribe tank dress has a unique black tie detail. Its lightweight cotton and silk blend fabric makes this dress a breezy option for a hot, sticky summer day.

Trend Watch: On With Ombré

The beauty world was uprooted when stars like Drew Barrymore, Rachel Bilson and Sarah Jessica Parker were snapped dodging convention and showing off their roots. This decision to show their true colors ignited the popular ombré trend.

Ombré, or a gradation of color from dark to light, has taken the beauty industry by storm. Now, the trend that started with some starlets' crowning glories, has branched off and taken root in the fashion world.

This season the ombré effect was seen at the shows of Hervé Léger and Rick Owens in the forms of varying color spectrums and dip-dyed fabrics.

Qi has used its innovative yarn techniques to create a gradient ombré design of its own. Using Tercel space-dye yarn, Qi has blended tan, browns and creams together to create a beautiful, unique pattern for our Trek On T and Tropical Tank.

Trend Watch: Soft Summer Pleats

Pleats revealed their soft side on the runway this spring. From Miu Miu to Chloé, soft pleats cascaded down the runway in beautiful, lightweight fabrics. These summery pieces are breezy enough to beat the summer heat without sacrificing an ounce of style.

Inspired by the lightness and beauty of this trend, Qi created the Soft Murmur Dress, which features soft pleats and a flowy skirt that is as airy as a summer's breeze. The blue floral print and sweetheart neckline gives this dress a girlishness that is as coy as it is cool.

Qi's Soft Murmur Dress retails for $220 and is available now at QiCashmereShop.com!

Stripes: A Star-Studded History

The history of the nautical striped shirt dates back to the early 1900s. The Breton striped shirt first made its debut on a French fisherman sailing off the coast of Brittany. Years later the style rose to fame on the backs of fashion icons like Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn and Jean Seberg.

Today the marine-inspired shirt continues to make waves. Stylish celebrities--from Kate Moss to Alexa Chung--have been seen rocking this trend season after season.

This spring Qi offers several striped styles. If you want to join the ranks of fashion icons both past and present, try Qi's Bay Breeze Tank, Whispering Wave V-Neck or Rip Tide Cardigan.

The Bay Breeze Tank has a fresh take on an old classic with its centered zipper pull and diagonal and horizontal stripe pattern. Meanwhile, the Whispering Wave V-Neck will have you lost at sea with its relaxed fit and navy diagonal stripes. Of course, you can always layer on your stripes with Qi's Rip Tide Cardigan, featuring horizontal stripes and a draped open placket.

Nicky Hilton was sporting a summer look as she sauntered around West Hollywood in a pair of striped shorts, a casual blank tank and some Christian Louboutin wedges. She topped the look off with a classic quilted Chanel bag and red polish.

Inspired by the Nicky's star style, we've created a similar look because we figure if you're not lucky enough to be an heiress, you may as well look like one.
