Fur-ocious

The fur trend is bigger than ever this season. Whether real, vintage or faux, fur has been shown at the fall runway shows of Alexander Wang, Derek Lam, Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch and more.

Here at Qi we're cozying up with sumptuous cashmere and luxe fur. In our fall 2011 collection, we combined oversized sweaters, ribbed patchwork cardigans and cable knit turtlenecks with fur accessories to create a chic look that conjures up the image of Greta Garbo lounging in her dressing room while wearing a fox fur scarf and a tweed jacket.

About the It Gets Better Project
Many young people face daily tormenting and bullying, leading them to feel like they have nowhere to turn. This is especially true for LGBT kids and teens, which often hide their sexuality for fear of bullying. Without other openly gay adults and mentors in their lives, they can't imagine what their future may hold. It Gets Better Project was created to show young LGBT people the levels of happiness, potential, and positivity their lives will reach –if they can just get through their teen years. It Gets Better Project wants to remind teenagers in the LGBT community that they are not alone —and it WILL get better.

The It Gets Better Project has turned into a worldwide movement, inspiring thousands of user-created videos and over 25 million views. To date, the project has received submissions from celebrities, organizations, activists, politicians and media personalities, including President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Adam Lambert, Anne Hathaway, Colin Farrell, Matthew Morrison of "Glee", Joe Jonas, Joel Madden, Ke$ha, Sarah Silverman, Tim Gunn, Ellen DeGeneres, Michael Kors, and many more.

Qi Presents Fall 2011

Qi New York is proud to introduce its Fall 2011 collection. This season, Qi returns to its roots of beautiful, soft, luxurious cashmere. By traveling the world—from the arid cliffs of Italy to Inner Mongolia—Qi has always harvested top quality natural fibers to create beautiful and comfortable clothing. This season celebrates the evolution of the brand and its focus on cashmere. With its innovative designs and timeless appeal, Qi is sure to have you coveting the warmth and lightness of its sumptuous wool.

The fall line is an urban romance—a marriage between conservative masculinity and edgy femininity. The charming boyishness of blazers with suede elbow patches and chunky cable knit sweaters lend an air of ruggedness to an otherwise feminine collection. Featuring runway trends such as the maxi dress, boxy crop tops, and cape sweaters, the styles are irresistibly modern without sacrificing their timeless appeal. The colors of Qi’s Fall 2011 knits are alluringly earthy and are ideal for creating transitional, relaxed looks.

Qi has created a collection that has a nostalgic feel with suede patchwork, tweed colored yarn, and vintage details. Whether cropped, oversized, or tailored to a T, the clothes are versatile, wearable, and most importantly, memorable! The garments are high quality investment pieces that are bound to make a statement with each and every wear.

Qi stands out with its use of fine fabrics—a niche the brand has carved out for itself since its beginnings in 2002. The company’s innovation in yarns, such as Qi’s specially formatted and exclusive moulenĂ©, is laudable. By mixing layers of colors, Qi has created a natural palette that gives the Donegal cashmere a one-of-a-kind look. There is no question that Qi’s expertise in premiere materials and its progressive shapes in design make the garments of undeniable value.

In returning to its roots in cashmere and carefully crafted yarns, Qi has succeeded in creating a line of easy pieces that will withstand the test of time. Find it at select retailers and at www.qicashmereshop.com.
