Blake Lively Takes The Fashion World By Storm

Blake Lively is officially the new "It" girl of the moment. Between her acting career, friendship with Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour, and her new campaign for Chanel, she is taking the fashion world by storm.

New York Magazine explains why this is in "Why Is Blake Lively So Great for Fashion?" It is not just her beauty that has people so intrigued, the actress' easy-going and lighthearted personality make her instantly likeable.

Lively tells WWD:
“I’ve just always believed you should put a lot of positive out there,” she says. “When I have bad days, I just eat lots of chocolate ice cream and dance to the ‘Lion King’ soundtrack. It’s really odd, but it’s true.”

And designers are beginning to take notice. Her eagerness is refreshing in a world of angst-ridden models with sad pouts notes Michael Kors:
"It’s the anti-bored, too-cool-for-school, locked in a club for months on end look that you see a lot of young actresses going for," he tells the Times. "There’s something very optimistic about her. I think she’s the anti-downer, anti-sad."

It's clear that her personality and positive energy have designers and editors knocking at her door to put her face on their brands. Oh, and of course, it doesn't hurt that the blonde bombshell has mile-long legs and a radiant smile.

Check out Lively in Qi on an episode of this season's Gossip Girl. She looks stunning wearing our Raven Cardigan paired with a purple dress and patterned tights--but would you expect anything less? It is Blake Lively after all.

Fashion's Night Out

A press conference was held this morning for a major upcoming event--Fashion's Night Out. During his speech Mayor Bloomberg proved that he is in touch with the fashion world.

“The men and women standing up here are the fashion-world stars,” he began. “If they say that boot-cut pants are back in style, then boot-cut pants are back in style. If they say capes are en vogue, then capes are en vogue. And if they say a simple navy suit is the epitome of sophistication, then who are we to argue with that?”

Fashion-related jokes aside, this year's Fashion's Night Out promises to be a huge success. With over 1,000 stores participating in the event and a public fashion show at Lincoln Center (being held September 7th), Fashion's Night Out is drawing a lot of attention to the fashion world. Tickets for the fashion show can be purchased for $25, with all proceeds going to the NYC Aids fund. [NYMag]

Qi is happy to announce that we will be holding our own event in celebration of Fashion's Night Out. Qi has produced a reusable tote bag that will be FREE with a purchase of $200 or more at qicashmereshop.com. Focusing on our society's consumption habits and the impact we have on the Earth, we've designed a bag that is as chic as it is environmentally sound. The bag depicts Mother Nature, whose wind-blown hair declares, “Mother Nature loves us, love her back.”

Here's a preview of the bag:

Remember to visit qicashmereshop.com and with a purchase of $200 or more you can receive the Mother Nature bag.
