Spring weather is unpredictable, but don't let gusts of wind and sporadic showers put a damper on your style. Qi encourages pushing proportional boundaries and experimenting with a short dress and long cardigan combination.
Wearing a short dress is a great way to show off some leg while drawing attention to a pair of cute shoes. When paired with a long cardigan, the look is transformed into a casual, laid-back ensemble that is as practical as it is chic. Plus, the layered look will ensure that the weather doesn't rain on your parade.
Lindsay Lohan is a fan of playful proportions. She looked effortlessly chic while wearing a bandage dress, a long cardigan, flats, and a clutch as she runs errands during the day.
Qi has put together a similar look featuring the Knot-ical Dress and Pebble Cardigan.
The Knot-ical dress is a nautical inspired navy and white striped tank dress with a hemline that hits above the knee, which is the perfect length to layer a long cardigan over.
The Pebble Cardigan features a shawl collar and asymmetrical hem and is available in Echo Blue Heather (seen below), Navy and Coral Heather.

Springing into Spring
Getting dressed this time a year poses a challenge to every fashionista. Looking skeptically out the window, while standing in front of your closet, wondering whether you will freeze or have a hot flash, is a dilemma that can be avoided if you know how to dress for the in-between seasons.
Transitional dressing requires just a little bit of planning and the right pieces in your wardrobe.
As the weather gets warmer, you might be inclined to ditch the tights and show off some leg. To avoid getting chilly, try a sweater dress. Our 100% cashmere Lily Pad Hoodie dress is a great solution. With it's long sleeves and functional hoodie, the dress will keep you warm while still showing a bit of skin!
Lily Pad Hoodie - $288
Conversely, you can show off your flair for fashion in a tribal print dress. Pair our Tied To The Tribe Dress with some black opaque tights, a pair of platform black booties, and an edgy feather necklace.
Tied To The Tribe Dress - $138

Or perhaps after a long winter of wearing dark colors, you are ready for a pop of color! Bold colors are everywhere this season, so why not welcome the spring season in our Star In The Dust sweater. Its oversize fit and scoop neck makes this hand knit, off the shoulder top a great transitional piece.

So, while you wait to dive into airy, floral spring fashion, take a second to consider transitional dressing. Did we miss anything? Share your tips!

Advocates For Children of New York 2011
In the past, Qi has supported Advocates For Children of New York, a non-profit organization that has promoted access to the best education New York can provide for the 1.1 million students in New York City’s public schools. Advocates for Children of New York works to advance systemic reform, empower families and communities, and advocate for educational rights of individual students.
This spring we will celebrate AFC’s 40th Anniversary Benefit on May 10, 2011 at the Rubin Museum of Art. Our founder, Jean Kolloff, is a member of the event committee and feels strongly about giving back to the community.
Our support for Advocates for Children of New York is longstanding. Qi designed the Give Back and Hope Intarsia Sweaters and donated proceeds to AFC.
(Available at QiCashmereShop.com)
We have also held an annual shopping event called “Cashmere for a Cause” that enables our customers to do their holiday shopping while giving back. In the past, these efforts have proven very successful in benefitting AFC.
Qi is looking forward to AFC's 40th Anniversary Benefit and, as always, is happy to be giving back to such a great cause!
